Situated 10.5 km down the Sani Pass, 16 from the border post with Lesotho and 19 km from Underberg, Sani Lodge campsite is on 30 hectares of land owned by Russell and Simone Suchet since 1992 that borders directly on to the Drakensberg Park ,making it perfectly located for the adventure seekers wanting to hike in the wilderness , trail run, mountain bike, motorbike or tour in  4×4 ‘s up the famous Sani Pass into Lesotho. The road to us is a good condition tarred road so no hassle for campervans or overland trucks to reach us. Our camping area offers;

– ablutions with hot showers,

-toilets and handbasins,

-2 power points – please bring your own extension,

-camper’s kitchen with sink, gas hot plates and kettle,

-overland truck parking area,

-8 braai areas

-friendly and helpful reception that is open from 7am to 9pm daily offering travel advice and tours. We work closely with KZN Wildlife selling permits for entry into the Drakensberg Park, supplying maps and route descriptions, booking caves or huts for hikers, ensuring hikers fill out all wilderness hiking safety forms and liaise with the Mountain Rescue team in case of emergency.

-use of all Lodge facilities including swimming pool, free WIFI, restaurant offering all meals, shop with basic supplies and hiking maps , direct access into the Drakensberg Park for self-guided trails, 23 different  tours with on site tour company Drakensberg Adventures specialized professional guides, horseback riding, yoga classes, massage therapy.

Sani Lodge is at the start of the famous 5 day Giant’s Cup hiking Trail. The annual Drakensberg Rockjumper 2 day trial run and Ultratrail Drakensberg 100 and 160 in April ,the annual 62 km Giant’s Cup Trail run in May and the Sani Stagger trail runs of 21 and 38 km in November all pass through the campsite. The famous 3 day Sani to C and 9 day Johannesburg to C mountain bike races all occur just 5 kms away. We offer shuttles for mountain bikers to these races early in the morning.
