Silo cottage was originally used to store grain, after extensive renovations in 2002 it is now a
stunning holiday destination situated in the picturesque Bamboo mountain valley on a working beef and horse stud.


Silo cottage offers luxury accommodation for 6 with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two double bed rooms and a twin room.
The spacious master bedroom has a walk in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom, second double bedroom is upstairs in the Silo section of the cottage and offers spectacular views of the berg, farmland and Umzimkhulu river with en-suite loo and basin. The third bedroom is a twin bedroom down stairs. There is a comfortable lounge with DSTV (with Smart card), fully equipped kitchen (walk in pantry) with microwave and two fridge / freezers the dining room is well appointed off the kitchen and seats 6 comfortably at a large round table. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the berg on the large social verandah with sundowners and a braai as the sun sets behind Bamboo Mountain.
The garden offers ample space for the kids to explore and play.
Cottage is serviced daily at 11:00 – 13:00

The location of the Silo cottage is truly a paddlers dream come true, with the Umzimkhulu river a mere 100 meters from your doorstep. (This stretch of the river is day 1 of the Drak Challenge).
Horse lovers will be in seventh heaven with mares and newborn foals grazing in the spring at the edge of the garden. Horse trails for all levels, from novices to experienced are catered for on magnificent polo ponies to explore and amble along the river and view the abundant birdlife.
